Conversations: Edition Nineteen

Continuing our weekly conversations...

The deal: Each Thursday, we announce a question of the week. We seek to ask questions that spark interesting conversations, whether it simply be about books, traditions, spiritual disciplines, more theological matters, or anything related to life in general. You can join in our conversations two ways:

1. Leave a comment with your thoughts!

2. Or, if you prefer, post an answer on your own blog and leave us a link to your post so we can comment and add to the conversation. If you post on your own blog, you are welcome to use the picture above as long as you link back to us somewhere in your post.

This week's question...

What do you think about Tuesday's quote from John Piper? How can it change your way of thinking and what things you consider important?

Comments

  1. It is good and reassuring to see how the world's standards and God's standards are completely different.

  2. It's a great quote. It reminds me that I need to be absolutely consumed with Christ, and do whatever He wants for my life.

  3. I agree with the comments made before. And it reminds me that HE must be behind every aspect of my life. HE must be what defines me!

  4. I think the last line says it all - we need to be rekindled with passion for Christ and His service. It is only when we are focused on Him and His character that we can truly be filled with joy. This quote is a great reminder that I need to refocus on Christ's majesty, power, and beauty. It is only then that I can live a life that reflects His character to others.

  5. Honestly, the "conversations" feel more like monologues to me, whether in English or in French. It seems you have the large stage, while we spectators are confined to the comment zone.

    Très peu émerveillant. :(
